What this site does not do

Every site in this area should say where its claims stop. This is where these ones stop.

It does not monitor anything

No address on this site is probed, pinged, fetched, timed or tested. Not on a schedule and not once. There is no checking machine anywhere behind this and there never has been.

That is why there is no last checked date on any page. A date like that implies a check, and printing one when no check happened would be a lie with a timestamp on it.

It does not publish a status or an uptime figure

Two reasons, and both are sufficient on their own.

The first is time. Any check would describe a moment already past. Between the check and your reading of it, anything can have changed, and the page has no way of knowing that it has.

The second is that reachability over Tor is a property of a path rather than of a service. Another machine building its own circuits learns about its own connection. Yours is assembled differently and can succeed or fail independently. A result obtained elsewhere does not transfer to you.

A percentage would be worse than a tick, because a decimal point implies a measurement programme. Sampling interval, timeout policy, what counted as success, how failures were retried, how long the window ran. Without those the figure cannot be interpreted at all, and almost nobody publishing such a figure states any of them.

It does not rank or label the addresses

The addresses are printed in the order they were supplied, with no numbering and no labels. Calling one primary and another a backup would be a claim about them that has not been established, and there is no basis here on which to establish it.

It does not claim to be official

These are published addresses, listed as given. This site is not operated by the market, has no relationship with it, and cannot confirm that any address is current, official or safe. Anybody who tells you a listing page can confirm that is describing something a listing page cannot do.

It does not sell anything

• No advertising of any kind, anywhere on the site.
• No affiliate arrangements, referral codes or paid placements.
• No testimonials, no reviews and no trust badges.
• No invented statistics. Where a figure appears at all, the page says whether it is a fact or a judgement.
• No newsletter, no accounts and nothing to sign up for.

It does not give advice about whether to do any of this

The pages here describe how failures get misattributed. That is the whole scope. Nothing here is a recommendation to use a market, a vendor or an address, and nothing here should be read as encouragement to do anything at all.

What it does do

It publishes three addresses exactly as supplied, and thirty cases sorted by who caused them. That is the complete offer, and the reasoning behind the sorting is on one page so that it can be disagreed with.

Where this site states a judgement rather than a fact, the sentence says so. There are a handful of them, mostly about which explanations get overused, and they are the parts most worth arguing with.
